Fiber Workshop

Why do we stick it out here? The people, that's why. The friends we have made here are genuine and we stick it out like the rest of them.

A Fiber workshop will be held here January 19th and 20th. I hope to get some overnight guests, and have some fun here on the farm. I am busy spinning the Finn roving from the September shearing, and in a few months, there will be more. Tuesday mornings are reserved for going to Sheepscott General store in Whitefield, for our spinning group of about 12 - 14 people. The 5 sheep have cushy, curly fleece. They are not coated, but so far it is pretty clean.

Bruce has finished the Barn Door project, and it came out nice! He is still driving for Tucker Chevrolet, a job he enjoys very much. We had a great company dinner thanks to Tucker, with a great meal at the Waterside Restaurant.

A few newcomers are getting oriented to help out with the barn chores. We are always welcome to the idea of someone staying here so we can get away for a few days, with pay, of course.

The horses are blanketed, Finn gets 2 blankets, Charlie has one. On the cold days I hear my friend's voice telling me "they'd rather be outside", so out they go.

Jersey Mike is treated like a horse here. He has his own stall, and he gets fed like the rest of them. I know a spoiled cow. Bruce finished the wire fencing way out back, and yesterday Finn got loose and rammed through the wire. Always fixing this fence, even in the winter.

New year brings new hopes and a chance to count our many blessings. Peace and good fortune to you in 2025, and good health to you, too.
